Abba I Terr, MD
Dr. Abba Terr was awarded at the Feb 12, 2011 meeting of the Allergy Asthma and Immunology Foundation of Northern California with the establishment of the Abba I. Terr, MD Lectureship "in honor of our member and friend who exemplifies the ideals of intellect, compassion, curiosity and leadership."
Lenore Terr, MD
In the last 3 years, Lenore has won two of the most important awards in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. In 2009 she was given the Rieger Psychotherapy Prize of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, which included a lecture entitled "The Use of Context in Treating Traumatized Children." at the Academy's annual meeting. Recenty, she was informed that she will receive the McGavin Award of the American Psychiatric Association to be presented in May, 2011 at their annual meeting in Honolulu. That prize in given for a career of significant achievement in research, teaching, and clinical work in child and adolescent psychiatry.
Lenore still actively trains mental health professionals at UCSF and elsewhere around the country. She occasionally appears on television news shows and interviews. A 2009 appearance on CBS News ("Mia's Story") was one of 5 finalists for the 2010 Emmy Award.
